Description

The Green Johanna is a closed 330L, hot composting bin designed to convert both garden and kitchen waste (including meat, bones, dairy and fish) into a nutrient rich compost. It boasts a sleek conical design to prevent organic waste sticking the inside walls together with adjustable ventilation ports in the lockable lid.

Other features include upward facing air vents in the base and 2 x sliding access doors for the easy inspection and collection of ready to use compost

We have had our 'Johanna' installed for just over a week now. and am happy to say it isn't smelling bad. I have been quite laze fare in what i'm putting in, prawn heads and meat scraps as well as good vege scraps and garden waste , i really wanted to test it out! Which is what initially drew me to purchase the Johanna, it suits my lazy beginner approach to composting. We had an influx of family over the long weekend so its had quite a work out.
I set it up as per instructions and i think its working well so far (this is certainly the key). It is nice and moist on the inside and there are no flies. I like how the lid closes tight so no animal could knock it off. Also it only has air vents around the bottom so im thinking its partially anerobic and will work even better once the months flow by.
I also like the colour and overall design as it blends into the garden landscape quite well.
It is still early days but i am confident that this will alleviate our composting needs and in hand use up our garden waste.

I only received my bin

I only received my bin a week ago. I found it easy to assemble. It’s a great size and I can’t wait to get my first load of mulch.
